The International English Day is celebrated on 23rd of April every year and this particular date is significant due to many reasons. Mainly 23rd of April is the birthday and date of death of William Shakespeare, the Father of English Literature. Moreover, this day symbolically reminds us the importance of learning English as the Lingua Franca in today’s context. This remarkable day was celebrated by the students of the School of Languages, with the guidance of Ms. Erandi Harischandra and the students organized an English Day in which their English-related talents were showcased. The event included entertainment, language games, speeches and activities, providing a platform to learn with entertainment while showcasing the hidden talents of the students.
