The Foundation in Psychology qualification is designed to provide learners with an excellent introduction to the field of Psychology, enabling learners who have not acquired a formal A/Level qualification to progress to an Advance Diploma program in Psychology. The program is designed to ensure that each learner understands how the field of Psychology has evolved to be what it is now, including the key issues and controversies that the discipline of Psychology had to face. It will also provide an insight into the vastness of application of Psychology and explain the careers in Psychology including pathways for professional memberships in the field of Psychology.

This course also covers areas of basic Mathematics and research skills, academic presentation skills and Academic Writing as a basis for further studies in Psychology. It will provide an extensive knowledge on the fundamentals of some of the key sub disciplines of Psychology including Developmental Psychology, Social Psychology and Cognitive Psychology.

This qualification is ideal for those who are planning to move onto an Advance Diploma in Psychology, thereby progressing to the BSc. in Psychology. This is a one-year program, with a total credit weighing of 120.

Entry Requirements

  • Traditional Entry Criteria
    Passed 5 subjects at O/L including Mathematics & English .

  • Alternative Entry Criteria
    Recognition of Prior learning that is acceptable to academic board. 

  • Alternative Entry Criteria
    A very good command of English Language in reading, writing, and speaking is required to successfully complete this program.
