I was graduated from NIBM in year 2015 and looking back my life at NIBM during those years, I would like to say those are the best four year in my life. I am fortunate enough to exposed myself with the group of industry experts and lecturers who have sharpened my knowledge. The lecturers at NIBM are not only meant to teach us, but also played the role of friend, counselor, and mentor to our lives. I am still in touch with my lecturers and I have lots of respect towards them. Content of my degree programme not only provides theoretical knowledge but also the practical experience in the corporate world. As a result, at the age of 21, I found myself employed while studying for my degree.

I wanted to join the Sri Lankan Air Force, but upon the end of the civil war in 2009, I was compelled to choose a different path in my life. In 2009 I came to Colombo to visit all the private Educational Institutions in Colombo and my inner feeling said that NIBM is the place that I need to start writing the next chapter of my life. Initially I got the chance to have a chat with one of the lecturers at NIBM who explained all the opportunities for me to build my career. I joined NIBM in 2010 as a student of the DCSD 10.3 batch. Which was one of the best decisions I took in my life. I have successfully completed my Diploma and Higher Diploma which paved the way for me to start my degree along with the opportunity to start my career while reading for my degree which is one of the main opportunities that any student receives at NIBM. I have been able to participate in most of the extra-curricular activities that has strengthen my ability to work in any given team.

NIBM offers a unique combination of learning and self-development platform. It was a wonderful experience during my higher educational time spent at NIBM. This is place where you can excel your hidden talents for a prosperous future ahead of you

I’m really grateful for the guidance received from the NIBM lecturers, the friendships I have strengthened by teamwork, and also for the opportunities from all the extracurricular activities. Becoming a software engineer was my dream and NIBM helped me make my dream come true.

Soon after my A/Ls, I was lucky enough to join NIBM for my higher education and I obtained my bachelor’s degree with a first class. Not only we studied, but also engaged in lots of extra-curricular activities and CSR activities during my life at NIBM. Overall learning experience is very good and met lots of amazing friends. The knowledge I gained through out the degree helped me a lot to understand the overall process behind the corporate world. With the enthusiasm I had for the marketing field, along with the support gained from the wonderful lectures of NIBM, today I have achieved my career ambition and lucky enough to become the Marketing Manager of Island Tea Company which is a retail business based in Philippines. Before I started to work in my current job, I was blessed to work for three blue chip companies in Sri Lanka before I joined with my current company.
