| Productivity
& Management Development Division The Productivity and Management Development
Division is one of the three divisions at NIBM. This division was created
through the recent amalgamation of the Productivity Facilitation Division
and Management Development Division. Its focus is on improving productivity
and management practices in the country.
This division offers a wide range of services
and courses such as Workshops and Foundation Courses, Diploma and Certificate
programmes and seminars. The Division offers its services to a cross section
of society ranging from school leavers to top professional by way of management
development programmes. These education and training opportunities are
available to both organizations and interested individuals in public and
private sectors.
The recent collaboration of the Productivity
Facilitation and Management Development Division with the University of
Northumbria and University College of Dublin, has created a new path for
the students to read a BSc. Management Degree in the following specialization
areas: Business Management, Financial Management, Human Resource Management
and Marketing Management.
Recently the Division launched a world recognized
productivity and quality improvement system called the Lean Manufacturing
and Six Sigma Systems. A Large number of industries in Sri Lanka have
already embarked on improving quality and productivity using the Lean
and Six Sigma Systems.
The Division is also a reputed training
arm of the NIBM for organizing and conducting workshops and seminars for
practicing managers and also for tailor-made training programmes on special
requests made by client organizations to enhance their employee's competencies.
