| The foundation stone for the proposed NIBM Galle Training Centre was laid at an auspicious moment by Hon. Piyasena Gamage, Minister of Vocational and Technical Training on 29th April 2008.
The proposed six storey building will be completed at Pettigalawaththa, Galle by the end of May 2009.
Speaking at the ceremony, Hon
Piyasena Gamage said, "NIBM is the pioneering ICT Training
Institution in Sri Lanka which currently has training facilities
in Colombo, Kurunegala and Kandy, producing over 10,000 Information
Technology and Management professionals annually. The construction
of the new building is expected to be completed in 12 months and
the new training centre will provide valuable opportunity for
students in Southern Province to become competent and skillful
professionals."
"Being a pioneer IT and
Management education institution", The Minister Added, "The
certificate and diplomas awarded by the National Institute of
Business Management is highly recognized public and private sectors
in Sri Lanka and overseas".
The event was attended by Provincial ministers, local council representatives, members of clergy and a large gathering of students.
